20 medications that cause memory loss

More than 100,000 people die every year as a result of adverse drug reactions. Millions end up in hospitals around the world because of the side effects.

The three main categories of prescription drugs that can cause memory loss and other cognitive issues are:

  1. Sleeping pills

Sleeping pills have terrible side effects, and they can affect the memory. Ambien is known as the “amnesia drug” because it can cause night terrors, sleep walking and hallucinations.

  1. Statins

Statins have destructive effects on the brain. They are also linked with memory loss and other side effects. They affect your thinking and can cripple the ability of your brain to learn new things.

  1. The “anti” drugs

These drugs include antibiotics, antipsychotics, antihypertensive, antispasmodics, antihistamines and antidepressant drugs. They will affect the levels of acetylcholine in the body.

Low levels of acetylcholine can lead to memory loss, delirium, hallucinations, mental confusion, dementia and blurred vision.
